Auditions

If you would like to train and perform with Momentum Dance Theatre
Auditions for Company members & apprentices

Momentum Dance Theatre prefers to work with a continuing Company of dancers committed to exploring and performing jazz, contemporary, latin jazz, hip hop and dance theater. While there are no auditions scheduled for spring, male and female professional dancers who are interested in workign with the Company may audition by taking Company class and coming to a rehearsal.

Looking forward to the next generation of Momentum dancers, we are always interested in apprentice dancers to train with the Company and learn repertoire. Apprentices have potential to perform with the professional company.

Momentum dancers are versatile, trained in jazz, hip hop, modern, Latin jazz and theater dance.  Dancers in the professional company are strong performers, comfortable with acting and, at times, speaking on stage and skilled in partnering.  Although we do not perform ballet works, some of our work is lyrical and requires ballet training.  The repertory challenges our dancers as well as encourages individual strengths. Momentum is known for its versatility of styles, high energy, sharp attack, sense of humor, diversity of dancer types and ability to balance individuality and strong Company style in performance.

All Company members get the opportunity to strut their stuff and be showcased as an individual.  You never disappear into the back line as a Momentum dancer!

Audition by taking Company class and learning repertory.  All rehearsals take place at at Results Gym in Capitol Hill (310 G Street SE).
