Auditions for Company members & apprentices for Fall/Winter 2008 season

Company positions are available for male and female professional dancers. We are casting for Momentum's Jazz Hip Hop Nutcracker 2008 and for spring performances at the Jack Guidone Theatre at Joy of Motion and a New York City tour. We are also auditioning for apprentice dancers to train with the Company and learn repertoire.  There is potential for apprentices to perform with the professional company. Momentum dancers are versatile, trained in jazz, hip hop, modern, Latin jazz and theater dance.  Dancers in the professional company are strong performers, comfortable with acting and, at times, speaking on stage and skilled in partnering.  Although we do not perform ballet works, some of our work is lyrical and requires ballet training.  The repertory challenges our dancers as well as encourages individual strengths. Momentum is known for its versatility of styles, high energy, sharp attack, sense of humor, diversity of dancer types and ability to balance individuality and strong Company style in performance.  All Company members get the opportunity to strut their stuff, to be showcased as an individual.  You never disappear into the back line as a Momentum dancer! Audition for the fall/winter season: Sunday September 14 at 2pm at Results the Gym (310 G Street SE) Dancers interesting in performing and/or training with Momentum need to send a resume and cover letter to : momentumdancetheatre@verizon.net or Momentum Dance Theatre; 651 E Street NE; Washington, DC 20002. Artistic Director Rothstein is available to answer questions at 202.744.6430. Dancers must be professionally trained for Company positions.  Apprentices will be chosen based on technical competence, performance quality and willingness to learn.  Apprentice positions are unpaid but receive quality training and extensive experience. Apprentices are trained personally by Ms. Rothstein and are required to take her Monday night jazz class at DC Dance Collective (7:30-8:30pm).
